How to support a friend
Listen without judgment, take references to suicide seriously, stay with the person if there is immediate risk, and involve emergency or crisis professionals. Do not promise secrecy when someone's life may be at risk. If there is an immediate safety concern, call 911.
Belief, belonging and healing
Some students find support through church, Christian prayer, pastoral care or faith-based recovery groups, while others prefer secular counseling, student support networks or another spiritual tradition. All deserve respectful, evidence-based care. Spiritual care can complement clinical treatment but is not a substitute for emergency help.
MedRefill Austin is not a crisis response service. Routine refill texting and Spruce sexual-health messages are not monitored emergency lines.
